FAQs

How much is this going to cost?

We work on an hourly rate of $150 per hour, aside from Jp who works at an hourly rate of $175. The amount of time it takes depends on how intricate the piece is, if it’s in color or black and grey, where the tattoo is located, etc.

What’s a deposit for?

The deposit is non-refundable $100 that holds your spot in the books and gets your artist drawing on your design. If you are booking an all day appointment it is a $300 deposit. It goes towards the cost of your tattoo and comes off the cost of the final price. But, for example, if your tattoo ends up taking more than one session it will come of the final appointment. If for whatever reason you cannot make the appointment and you have given us enough time (AT LEAST 72 hours) your deposit can be transferred to the new appointment. It cannot be refunded.

Do I need to prepare for anything before my tattoo?

We recommend that you eat and are hydrated before your appointment. Wearing comfortable clothing that makes your tattoo site accessible but you wouldn’t mind if tattoo ink accidentally got on it is recommended. Feel free to bring a small blanket or pillow for comfort, any snacks drinks or gum that you may want during your tattoo. Don’t be high, don’t be hungover, don’t be a dick. You can shave the area that is getting tattooed, but it’s definitely not necessary and the artist has no problem shaving the area.

My appointment isn’t for a month but can I see the drawing?

Since life happens and sometimes people cancel or the appointment doesn’t work with their schedule anymore, our artists don’t typically draw tattoo designs until a couple days before the appointment (depending on the artist) If there is something that you need to change about the design of your tattoo before the appointment, you can either email your artist through the shop email luckyno3tattoo@gmail.com with the subject line “attn artist name” or schedule a time to come in and talk to your artist in person.

I don’t know what artist I want to tattoo me. Who do I book with?

We like to coordinate what tattoo style you want with the artist that excels in that style. For example, if you want a super traditional style tattoo we would recommend you going to Alex, because that’s what he does the most. Everyone in the shop can execute any style that you would like to get done but you are going to have a rad piece if you book with someone who does your style everyday. We recommend either checking out the in person portfolios we have in the shop, or going to the guys’ Instagram pages to check out their online portfolios to see who’s work best aligns with what you are looking to get.

Speaking of booking, how far out are you booked?

This question depends on who you would like to book with and the time of the year the best way to know is reaching out to see where each artist’s schedule is at.

I don’t want to wait, do y’all take walk-ins?

We do when we have the availability, but generally we are booked in advance. If you want to give us a call you can definitely double check. We will take your contact info and the idea that you are planning on, if someone has a cancellation or no show and is down to do your tattoo they will give you a call! If you are trying to get something large scale or intricate we really recommend booking an appointment, that way your artist can really take their time on it.

how old do i need to be?

In Washington state, you need to be at least 18 years old to get a tattoo. This includes if you have parent permission. Piercing ages are listed on the Aberration body piercing page.

If i show up early to my appointment i get tattooed early right?

NO! Your appointment is set at a time so the artists have enough time to do things like clean, finish up drawings, do consultations, etc. Showing up 45 minutes early doesn’t mean you will get tattooed 45 minutes sooner, only that you’ll wait in the lobby for an extra 45 minutes.

Something like 10 minutes early is totally fine, at the time of the appointment is always preferred, unless otherwise requested by your artist.

Do you accept Diners Club?

I mean.. yeah.. We also accept modern things like American Express, Discover, Visa, Apple pay, Samsung pay, Venmo, Cashapp, debit, cash and gift certificates. NO CHECKS.

Do you do gift certificates?

We do! Gift certificates can be any amount, they never expire and can be used for any artist. Just don’t lose it! We don’t have a way to look up your gift certificate, once it’s gone, it’s gone.

Like any other establishment, gift certificates are non-refundable and cannot be traded for cash. Although, you can use a tattoo gift certificate on the piercing side and vice versa.

Can I bring someone with me? What about my kid?

You are more than welcome to bring a friend or family member. If you bring more than one they will have to sit in the lobby, as the artists stations are not large enough to accommodate. No kids please!

Can I take pictures and videos?

This is up to your artists. Most don’t care at all about pictures, but definitely ask before taking them. We don’t want someone trying to take a tiktok while the artists are trying to work.

Can i use numbing cream?

If you are electing to use numbing cream we would like to put out a disclaimer: Some artists do not want you to use numbing cream on your tattoo. Please ask before using it.

We cannot guarantee the outcome of numbing cream at all. It is something that is fairly new and we have seen some tattoos that have not healed correctly due to numbing cream.

The FDA has recently warned consumers against numbing cream because of the adverse affects in can have to your skin and heart. Here is a link to see the whole notice.

We ask that you bring in the numbing cream that you plan to use with you or send a picture of it through email before your appointment.

Numbing cream cannot be more than 4% lidocaine and it cannot be in a large area, for example your back or a whole leg, etc.

Does anyone do portraits?

Bradley and JP are the artists we would recommend for portraits! We have a minimum cost of $400 for portraits since to do them correctly they take a lot of time. They need to be at least palm sized in order to get the detail required and the photo that you use has to be a clear photo! As Bradley would say “I need to be able to see the whites of their eyes”

I forgot everything my tattoo artist told me about aftercare, what do I do?
